Maison & Objet 2017

Design Inspiration: Maison & Objet, Paris 2017

Every year in January Paris becomes a hub for those in the design world for both Maison & Objet and Paris Deco Off.  We headed to Paris last week for both research and inspiration. The Maison & Objet show is held at the Parc des Exposition, Villepinte and has eight halls packed to the brim with brands and designers showing their collections and an opportunity to launch new products to the trade.  The sheer scale of the event can make it a little daunting and somewhat of a challenge to pack it all in.  However with a little research beforehand and with a map of each hall close to hand it is much easier to navigate the show and make sure you get the most from Maison & Objet.  That said it is very easy to be led astray by the show stopper stands such as the AP Collection and their unique take on furniture design.

The show is a great opportunity to find new suppliers and broaden your knowledge, which enables us to provide the best possible service to our clients whether for the furniture packages or the more bespoke elements of interior design.

One of the most important parts of the show is the opportunity to see such a huge range of furniture, lighting and artwork all under one roof, giving you the chance to speak with suppliers and learn about the design process, understanding how the products are made and where they are manufactured, which we find essential when speaking with our clients. The room sets that designers and suppliers create for the show are exceptional and make the vast ordinarily bland exhibition halls inviting, design inspired spaces.  Below are some highlights from the Eichholtz stand, which was a real draw with a great mix of textures, bold colours and beautiful lighting.

We headed back home armed with a wealth of information on new suppliers, new product launches and some amazing design inspiration from the show and Paris as a whole. We can't wait to start incorporating these new collections into our projects.
